Oh My Eyes sunglasses are handmade in Sabae, Japan. The city west of Tokyo is known for its long eyewear tradition. For more than 100 years, craftsmen from Sabae have produced frames made from plant-based acetate which is more durable than regular plastic, and light yet robust titanium, which is stronger than stainless steel, nickel-free and corrosion resistant. The lenses used are impact and scratch resistant and carry maximum UV400 protection, including UVA and UVB rays, for ultimate protection of your eyes.
One pair takes up to six months to complete and includes more than 200 stages. Skilled artisans craft each and every detail by hand. Whether it is making temples, small metal parts, glazing of the lenses or plating of metal colours, they all have their own expertise that together make up the final high-end product. The polishing stage alone takes several days and ends with a quality control and some more polishing before the frame is shipped to Stockholm, Sweden.
